Support face masks manufactured by Minteshreen to protect citizens who were forced back to the street by hunger and government inaction and help increase awareness about the pandemic.
COVID-19 was poorly managed in Lebanon. The lack of a concrete response strategy by the government and the lack of a nationwide awareness campaign, led to haphazard decisions to contain the spread, which impacted the livelihood of Lebanese citizens harder than other countries.
We wanted to raise awareness on the severity of the virus and to attempt to limit its spread.
We decided to launch “Masks Minteshreen”, locally produced masks where upon every purchase we donated an identical mask to a person in need. This project answered three objectives:
1) Supporting local suppliers
2) Raising awareness on the severity of the virus
3) Protecting communities from the spread.
The team decided to explain to their co-citizens that wearing a face mask would reduce risk of transmission of respiratory viruses and would save lives by controlling the spread of the COVID-19 and its variants in Lebanon.
We have distributed 3100 free masks so far, in Beirut and Tripoli.
