Minteshreen played a proactive role in the 2020 union elections, working within and alongside the “Naqaba Tantafed” campaign, taking part of a landslide victory driven by a coalition that brought together over 25 parties and organizations
Syndicates and unions are core pillars in any democratic society.
They bring together hard working professionals from across a nation for the common goals of improving their fields and living standards. In Lebanon these institutions have been held by traditional parties for decades, bringing them to an intentional state of paralysis.
In Minteshreen, we believe that real change comes from institutional reform. Our Unions Committee organized Minteshreen’s first direct experience in union elections during the Naqaba Tantafed campaign in the Order of Engineers and Architects was able to establish ties with grassroot revolutionary movements within a large number of orders and unions.
The Naqaba Tantafed campaign that began a year and a half prior to the elections, produced a landslide victory driven by a coalition that brought together over 25 parties and organizations, of which Minteshreen recorded the highest number of dedicated volunteers.
From the call center to leading ground roles during the election days, Minteshreen’s Unions Committee and members’ commitment and diligence aided in securing outstanding results, with members of the Unions committee having assumed various roles within the coalition including working on an application of the program within the order.
